Fishing, Internet style
What do you picture when you think of fishing?
Maybe a beautiful sunny day, the wind blowing gently, you are surrounded by the clear blue ocean as far as your eyes can see…
Like many other things that have migrated into the online world, fishing had to change and evolve in order for it to thrive and survive.
At this point you might be asking yourself what the heck, is he rambling about?
How can fishing work over the Internet?
Well as surprising as it may seem at first glance, fishing was adopted with great enthusiasm by the Internet community, especially by certain groups who love role playing.
In fact Internet style fishing became so popular that instead of calling it Internet fishing it received a nick name: Phishing.
For fishing to work you need at least two parties; the fisherman and the fish.
So what would be the real world fish and fisherman equivalent of the Internet?
The Internet Fish
As it turns out the Internet is fertile ground for fish and they are plentiful over there.
The fish over the Internet are you me and just about every one else who might be conducting some form of online life.
The Internet fishermen
Fishermen, Internet style, are unfortunately not your average real life fishermen, not the friendly people who spend their time quietly out in nature.
The fishermen in the Internet are hackers, hooligans and more recently organized crime.
At this point you might be asking yourself, has the good doctor lost his mind?
Well as much as I would love being closed in an asylum, having the freedom to do what I like when I like, the doctors still refuse to hospitalize me and fishing in the Internet is an ever growing phenomenon.
