Test Problems Back to FAQ page

To use My Pc Center scanners, certain functions of your pc must be working properly. Our diagnostics rely on the ActiveX and Javascript technologies of Internet Explorer. Some software running on your pc may interfere with our tests. The below info may help you solve these conflicts and problems.
What should I do to prevent a testing problem?
Reduce the software running on your pc to the minimum. Always try these steps first:
- Make sure your cookie and security settings are correct. See our cookies page for complete instructions.
- Check for spyware using in our Spyware Test center. Spyware utilities can cause crashes and erratic behavior throughout the site.
- Check for viruses in our Antivirus Test center. If you already have an antivirus program, make sure it is active and that the virus signature file is up to date.
- Disable browser featues such as ad blockers or popup stoppers.
If none of these steps solve the problem, read the remainder of this FAQ carefully or contact us.
How can I find out which test is not working?
During My Pc Center's scan you will see a blue progress bar on the screen. It tells you the test that is currently running. If an error occurs please contact us.
My pc stops or crashes during the testing, why?
It’s possible you’ve stumbled upon a bug in our utility. Fortunately, bugs in our system are a rare occurrence. Nevertheless, they do creep in. If that is so, we’d love to know so that we can exterminate it. Frequently, if the test crashes, it’s because of a bug in other software running on your pc. In any case, our automated system sends us a message with your exact error so our tech team gets on your case right away. Once we resolve it, we contact you via email to the address you provided us with.
If a specific test crashes, can I skip it?
In most cases yes. Just click continue. When you skip some tests, you won't get a full set of advice since we'll be missing the data we use to do that analysis.
How/where can I report more problems/questions?
The best way to do so is to post a Thread in our Forum. We review it daily and will answer your questions. In addition, others with similar problems may offer their opinions. We are trying to foster a collaborative place to resolve problems.
