IP - IP similar the postal system. It allows users to address a package and drop it in the system and reach the right destination.
An IP address is a numeric code that uniquely identifies a particular computer on the Internet. Each computer has a different IP address, just like homes have mailing addresses. These codes are issued by an organization called InterNIC. You register your address with InterNIC as both a name (myPCcenter.com), which is referred to as the domain name, and a number (123.253.73.3), which is generally referred to as the IP address.
Just like the postal service with its zip code system, the way the IP address is constructed, it allows narrowing down the search to a greater area, as well as local areas that specify the machine on the network, the way your street number does for your house/apartment. It’s a clever system that allows for worldwide communication and transfer of data without the knowledge of languages.
TCP/IP – (short for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), is an array of communications protocols used to connect hosts on the Internet. TCP/IP uses several protocols, the two main ones are TCP and IP.
