About My PC Profile
My PC Profile gives you a complete report about your PC. It lists all hardware and software that is installed, all processes running on your computer right now and much more. It doesn’t matter whether you are an expert or just a beginner. My PC Profile is great and easy to use for computer users of any skill level.
How long will it take?
The My PC Profile Scan takes two to five minutes on most systems, depending on your connection speed.
What will I see?
You will notice some disk activity during the examination of your system configuration. You will see a progress bar along the way. If you have certain firewalls such as Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm, you may need to turn it off to complete the tests. Our tests are implemented with web pages that use Javascript and an ActiveX control developed and signed by us.
What does it actually do?
Testing begins with the collection of data on the configuration of the computer. This will include CPU type/speed, types and sizes of disk drives, BIOS information, memory configuration, video resolution, Windows and browser version, and a complete list of all programs currently running on the computer.
What happens next?
Then we proceed by testing your hardware to determine how well each subsystem works, and determine the speed at which your system can perform some of the most common tasks. The health and performance of the CPU, disk drives, memory, video and Internet connection is also checked.
What happens after the scan?
The data is checked in real time and recommendations are created to let you know how to make your system run better, faster and most of all, SAFER. You'll get an easy to understand report on the data we collected and it will be stored in a protected area for you so that you can access it anytime.
